Shortly after I was born, my parents bought a home in La Mesa, California, which had a tiny granny flat attached to the garage. My mom had just stepped away from being a reporter to raise a screaming needy infant (me).
Money was really tight.
My parents rented that teeny granny flat to a college student.
That made a huge difference in our lives.
One of the reasons I feel so passionate about ADUs is that it provides flexibility for all of life’s curveballs.
Some of life’s curveballs we can plan for, like having a baby.
But often, life throws us unexpected curveballs, like being let go from a job you loved, needing to find housing for an aging parent who recently had a fall, or even a COVID-19 epidemic.
Having reliable cash flow during a crisis, having a place for a family member to stay, having space to launch a business, can mean all the difference to families.
We’re here to help. Please lean on us as a resource.
In the meantime, be safe and watch out for each other.
All the Best,
